2000–2001 · Dot-com crash. The internet bubble wiped out dozens of IT firms in Mumbai. AV Services had no venture funding to lose. Clients were manufacturers and traders who needed their Linux servers running whether the Nasdaq was up or down. The crash was irrelevant to them.

2008–2009 · Global financial crisis. One stockbroking client froze its IT budget. Two others actually expanded — volatility meant their trading servers had to be rock-solid. Retainer continuity came from clients who could not afford downtime more than they could not afford the fee.

2016 · Demonetisation. Eight weeks of business uncertainty across India. Jewellery and manufacturing clients scrambled. AV Services kept their ERP servers and billing systems running through the chaos. That period produced 3 long-term retainer renewals from clients who had seen what “available” actually meant.

2020–2021 · COVID. Remote-first became mandatory overnight. AV Services had been remote-capable since 2003. No adaptation needed. Clients who had been managing servers manually suddenly needed someone who could do it without being on-site. Enquiries went up.

2025–2026 · AI disruption. Everyone is told to automate everything. Linux infrastructure still runs on physical servers. It still needs patching, monitoring, and a human who picks up the phone at 2am. That has not changed. It will not.

The people behind the work

AV Services is Arun Valecha. But the network that backs it up goes back to 1996.

Sanjay has been in the IT industry since 1996. Arun trained under him at VXL Enterprises starting in 1998 — and so did Krishna, who joined even earlier. When Arun branched out independently in 1999, the professional connection never broke. Three decades later, it still hasn’t.

The three have always cooperated across each other’s work. When an operational challenge is large enough to need more than one pair of hands, Sanjay and Krishna join forces with Arun — and the work gets done coherently, without the coordination overhead that comes with unfamiliar teams.

In the early 2000s, the three worked together on deployments across multiple MTNL telephone exchanges and BARC scientist residences across Mumbai — environments where precision mattered and errors were not an option.

Krishna was working with Sanjay before Arun arrived at VXL Enterprises in 1998. That makes him the longest-standing member of this professional network — a relationship that predates AV Services itself.

Krishna has standing access to AV Services’ monitoring stack, client runbooks, and documentation. If Arun is briefly unreachable, Krishna logs the issue, confirms receipt with the client, and escalates immediately. He is currently completing structured Linux training alongside Sanjay, building toward independent incident handling over time.

The MTNL and BARC deployments in the early 2000s were joint work — the kind that builds professional trust that lasts. It has.
